What Identification Is Required
Every signer must present valid government-issued photo identification at the appointment. Common acceptable identification includes a driver’s license, state ID card, or passport. The name on the identification should reasonably match the name on the document.
What Should I Bring to My Appointment
Bring the complete document ready for signature. Do not sign the document before the appointment unless the document instructions specifically require a prior signature. Each signer must bring valid government-issued photo identification. All required signers must be present at the appointment. If witnesses are required for the document, bring the required witnesses unless witness service was requested during booking.
Can a Document Be Notarized if It Is Incomplete
No. Texas law prohibits notarizing documents with blank spaces or incomplete sections. All documents must be complete and ready for signature at the time of the appointment. If documents are incomplete, the appointment will be canceled and travel fees still apply.
Do All Signers Need to Be Present
Yes. Every signer must appear before the notary at the same time unless the document specifically allows separate notarizations. The notary must personally witness each signature.
What Happens if Someone Does Not Show Up
The 15-minute waiting period begins at the scheduled appointment time. If the signer has not appeared and the notarization has not begun within 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment time, the visit is treated as a completed service call. The deposit is non-refundable in this circumstance.
What Happens if I Cancel My Appointment
Appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time are non-refundable. Deposits secure the appointment time and travel schedule. If documents are incomplete or identification is missing at the time of the appointment, a new appointment and new deposit will be required.
